I love the way birds are so free to fly and turn in the air, how their infinite squiggles of flight above the beach are so uninhibited. I filmed this sunrise a couple of weeks ago and I saved it for my faithful subscribers when words haven’t quite settled on the page.
I am editing the second edition of Sanctuary and hope to get it to the printers for the end of January. My first book has morphed into a celebration of nature at dawn, with images from near my home. The local book shop was so encouraging and asking where each picture was taken so I am giving it a shot. So I hope you will forgive me for being a little quiet for the moment in Vineyard Tales.
Our offspring have all been home. The tree has sparkled. The dishwasher doesn’t know what’s hit it. The washing machine has done treble time. The cooker has felt pretty festive, encircled by four very happy dogs hoping to get a look-in at some spicey dishes with enthusiastic waggy, sandy tails.
Wherever you are, I hope you have found the time for the magic of a book or story that has unravelled and transported you off to a magical palace of imagination. More than anything I wish you peace and inner calm, for if we have that, we can adapt to what is thrown at us better and we can enjoy what the New Year brings with open hearts. I just did a meditation on my sofa to slow time down a little. And if this little video of calm can help too then I am delighted.
I wish you hearts full of hope and love for 2025.
