‘I will watch’, I promised as I trekked up the field. It was a perfect mile.
Ahead, a red and green mosaic fusion like nothing I’d ever seen.
I breathe deep,
I feel alive,
I smile.
‘I will lead,’ said the breeze, reaching far up field, up the pixel mile kicking off a ceilidh like you’d never seen! And I smiled.
‘I will paint it!’, exclaimed Klimt, looking long up that field, that heavenly, eclectic mile. He painted poppy flirts of scarlet skirts, like they’d never seen!
‘I’ll add real gold!’ said he, bright eyed, painting the field, in sensational style.
Ecstatic twirls and crimson pearls. Goldleaf-kissed poppy curls preserved on canvas, defying the seasons.
Come here with me and sit a while.
Breathe deep, feel alive and smile in nature’s isle.
I hope you enjoyed this short piece, enthused by the poppies that are soaking up the rain. Hoping it carries on because we need a lot of it to catch up. I love how the poppies waste no time in celebrating.
Please excuse me this last week or so. I know this piece is late. I have an exhibition I am sharing in Barcelona with artists Jane Darroch Riley and Scott Riley and my whole office and lounge is absolutely covered in frames. It feels like a maths lesson; mixing pictures with the right frames in style and colour groups for the walls! The logistics to get the frames on the walls are complicated too, in a pedestrian part of the town near the beautiful Palau de la Música. But what an honour to be invited and to be so near such a historic place.
Have a good weekend.
Lots of love.
Oh, I loved this! Fabulous voice in your writing.
We took a road trip to Spain week before last and the roadside poppies were a blessing to brighten up an otherwise miserable trip in driving rain, winds, hailstones (there was some sun and even snow too). Crazy!
“Ecstatic twirls and crimson pearls.
Goldleaf-kissed poppy curls…”
Ooh those are scrumptious words! I wish I’d written those… so glad you’ve had some rain at last!
Good luck with your exhibition Pipp, is it this weekend? X
