The clouds have stolen the sky, the sea is a simmer of faint silver melting into the horizon. Every day, something. There’s always something. One darn thing… or one beautiful thing after another. History. Nature. Hugs. The sky. As is. Bird song. A day’s journey. The music of the train. The stars.
Glass half empty? Or half full, still or sparkling or both, add ice and lemon?
This morning got off to a spectacular start. Orange glow one side, faint pink smudges on the other. The best way to enjoy it was to spin round 360 and see it all. At the end of this circle you clocked a huge moon of the roundest kind, silently eloping into the far hills and much further than I’ve ever seen it before.
After that, the day sunk into grey. I walked as always and dreamt of coffee to warm up. No frost, mist or dew though. The three ethereal wise dudes I love only visit on special days. Robins this morning are not lost for words. They chat about sunrise in the trees.
‘Did you see last night’s?’
‘Yeah! To die for!’ And off he flies. Somewhere high.
Candy floss mornings, glass waters and moons on all-nighters. There’s always something positive. If I’m looking. If I let the pencil loose.
‘Only with the heart can you touch the sky’ — Rumi.
Wishing you a lovely weekend ahead.
Reading this week… I just finished reading ‘Sorrow and Bliss’ by Meg Mason. What a book! I have never read a book that is so intensely painful for so much of its journey. A very affecting book that I am very glad I read. Need to thank my niece for the recommendation.
Here on Sub Stack I came across
for the first time, not that she really needs promotion with 8000 subscribers, but it takes a whole lot of work to get to that level so why not! by Barrie from is good for people starting out like me, needing a little positive help with writing from time to time. Like me! Never give up! Right??And Susie’s stunning piece, starting the day with a glorious sunrise and worshipping the art of frost got me, hook, line and sinker:
Thank lovely... we are going to try - she can’t get back for Christmas so it’s a sort of pre-run (like I need two Christmas days in a year...!)
I’m shouting loudly re the rain..!!
Love and a big soggy hug.!! 🤗xx
I see only beautiful words here... but perhaps you’re right, there must be an ink shortage?
I seem to be out too... either that or rain has washed all my words into the gutter with the leaves and the mud and the sludge!
And don’t even mention inspiration this week....
Happy weekend gorgeous, my daughter will arrive tomorrow evening so I’m praying for a miracle and that MN turns off the damn tap! ♥️xx
