The sun has just rolled up.
Sitting here below the tree line. The view over the vines turns to gold. The olive tree in front shudders in the breeze. Its perfect shape. I stare at it some more. In its detail it is not perfect, at all. Thank goodness. A symmetrical tree, would be absurd. It’s imperfections are perfectly balanced.
A robin somewhere to my left sounds alert, stroppy, annoyed at my intrusion. He was enjoying the peace to himself until I came along.
I often sit here. A perch on a rock smooth enough to sit on. Sitting, noticing emotions, forgetting for the moment logistics, conversations, social demands, bureaucracy and.
Stop.
Just simply take in the view. The sounds.
With a deep sigh, which rolls in from nowhere, a wave of renewed calm lands in my inbox.
Behind gone cold on lichen covered limestone.
It’s time to move!
I have my booster today.
Mustn’t get a chill.
But my soul says wait.
Apparently I need another minute
To talk to you.
We talk in silence.
You will know when we’re done for today, bum all numb or no.
When you get up, walk home and put the coffee on, if this meeting lasted long enough, you’ll be smiling when you pour the coffee.
You can smile because others make you happy,
And you can smile because you listened in to make yourself happy.
You know you are good. You know you can make things better.
Don’t give your power away. The power is inside you, it’s not in a mirror, not behind glass. Mirrors anyway can crack.
But we are lucky, we mend.
We love.
And love again.
Always.
